I don't know what Rand's overall impact might have been. Not only might she have inadvertently led people to philosophy, but she promoted secular humanism and atheism. So she's not an evil figure. It's just that her arguments themselves are crude, and her mythos is questionable and easily exploited by more sinister characters, such as Republican politicians or tech billionaires.
