Thanks. I found that strange too. My best explanation is that his decision to moderate his tone was only an afterthought. Maybe he watched a critical video just before filming and he thought he'd gesture towards being fairminded and humble. But it was obviously too late to rewrite the article that was already published.

However, if he agreed with his critics on this point, you'd think he wouldn't want to embarrass himself by reading such a snide, deranged article for a video. No, the article might already be in print, but if you changed your mind about your tone, you could choose not to double down by reading it at all on camera. You could just let it lie and change how you write and speak from that point onward.

But we seldom change our character at all as adults. His agreement with his critics was likely only superficial. Or his mood will change and he'll forget about that criticism as he's caught up in a new rant.
