Thanks. I don't think we can lean so much on quantum mechanics, at least not for our metaphysics, because that's an unfinished theory. QM is a way of calculating outcomes, but no one knows what it means or how to interpret its utility.

Either way, I'd say the character of nature emerges from the quantum phenomena, and those phenomena are quite paradoxical too, so they'll only add to the eerieness that makes the universe's story horrific from a naive, social human perspective.
