I'm not offended by what religious people put stock in. I'm appalled by the social effects of a widespread lack of enlightenment.
And I certainly don't expect to convince religious people they're wrong. I learned in the 1990s when I started debating Christians on the Secular Web, that few minds are ever changed that way. My goal is to explain my viewpoint. That's all. And I do so as much for my benefit as for anyone else's.
Pointing, laughing, and moving on wouldn't be a philosophical response, would it? I do philosophy. That's my hobby.
I don't know how many of my articles you've read, but it's lazy to say I evince just another form of "deeply insecure zealotry." Of course, it's also ad hominem.
