Thanks, but you don't know the half of it. The saga isn't over with the book, and I'll be adding another poststript to the article.
I got two case numbers, and only the paperback passed the review process. Even though the book's contents are identical and I submitted the same documentation in both cases (a link to my Medium article and all the explanations), the eReader version of the book hasn't passed yet, and they seem to have rejected that Medium article as proof (in the eReader case but not in the other).
I did some digging on Google to account for this absurdity, and it seems the review process is largely automated by algorithms. Humans get involved only to check over the algorithm's "decisions.." So some of the humans might do a more thorough job than others, since obviously an AI couldn't read my article and understand it.
I'll be calling the help line to explain the situation. It is depressing, though, and in more ways than one. I mean that this kind of kafkaesque bureaucracy is depressing for humanity.
