Tell me again why it's immature to feel sorrow on behalf of all the suffering experienced by the trillions of living things on our planet, including our many human ancestors. Why should we be at peace with all the suffering in the world?
Is it because life as science describes it is just an illusion? In that case, mysticism would entail rank amorality, as I've argued it does. Although a mystic may not be motivated to rape or to murder, if organic life is an illusion, there should be as little wrong with raping a woman or murdering a child as there would be in erasing a drawing of a woman or of a child. What moral rights does an illusion have, I wonder.
I see another article coming on. Thanks as always for inspiring it. ;)
