Sure, in the early period, Christian spirituality might have threatened some Jewish and Roman norms. After the Jewish-Roman wars, though, Jewish norms were obliterated, and Rome co-opted Christianity, so the Christian narrative wasn't so subversive. Jesus became the Jewish version of a dying and rising god, the kind that was worshipped in many guises all around the Mediterranean. In any case, Rome tolerated peaceful deviations. Roman polytheism was pretty pragmatic.

I'm also not sure what this has to do with dualism.
