Sure, but there's what we say, and then there's what we do, and those two things needn't be the same. If medievalism is unspeakable and anachronistic in modern societies, those with authoritarian personalities will want to keep their archaic prejudices secret. So they disguise them with all kinds of rhetoric, including quasi-liberal concepts. That's the function of "libertarianism" in conservative circles.
