Sure, but then that focus on suffering due to sentience is implicitly humanistic or life-centered, and humanism conflicts with a cosmic perspective that's implicitly nihilistic. This is why I critique Buddhism, because one of my main projects is to try to reconcile humanism with cosmicist naturalism.
