Sure, and if there were proof, there wouldn't be so many religions. Religion would be a science, and we'd know exactly how to contact God. Of course it's not like that. God, the transcendent nature of ultimate reality, is supposed to be a mystery, and religions should be considered more like art than science. Scriptures should be read as historical reflections of the time period, and myths are essentially phenomenological poems.
