I agree that there are plenty of psychological reasons for Trumpers' persistent support for him. Clearly, it's become a cult of personality, and cults depend on all kinds of warped psychological factors. Indeed, every social phenomenon likely has multiple causes. We emphasize some of those causes that interest us, to make a point. In this article, I emphasize the revenge factor and how the MAGA cult drowns out the American conservatives' civic responsibilities. And this sits well with my overall view of conservatism as being anti-modern and retrograde.
