So you default to historicity. That's what I called the charitable reading, and it may be warranted when the stories in question are naturalistic, as in the case Socrates. But if the Jesus stories adhere too closely to Old Testament passages (pesher) and to the mytheme of the Mystery Religions, the default shifts to mythicism, as a philosophical matter. That's what I argued in the article, and that's what Richard Carrier argues.
