So the smaller size of the Eastern Church means it's less dynamic or complex? Is its theology more settled in that it's traditional and deferential to the Church Fathers, whereas the Western Church found it could evolve in any direction as along as the result could be attributed to the Holy Spirit?

Currently, of course, the Russian Orthodox Church is an appalling appendage of Putin's regime. The only thing it has in common with some early Christians is backwards morality, known as "family values."
