So lame. Obviously, if the institution is flawed, some economists have to be engaged in problematic behaviour. So I talk generally about kinds of economists. But I'm talking groups in so far as they hold up the institution. I'm not talking about individual economists, naming names. The criticisms are directed at groups that carry out institutional functions, so it's not really ad hominem. It's a social, collective criticism, not a personal, individual one, which means I leave room for exceptions in any particular case.
