Right-wing Orthodox Jews in Israel have numerous loony beliefs which may include the idolatrous mixing of religion and politics. Judaism itself, though, is opposed to such idolatry, just as Jesus's message was apolitical.

If any country is in danger of being overtaken by hostile neighbours, it's Israel, not the US since the US happens to be surrounded by oceans and friendly neighbours.
