Right, animal sacrifice. But Jesus was supposed to have been a man, so that was human sacrifice, making his resurrected self a zombie. What the animal and human sacrifices had in common was the magical thinking which goes back to shamanism. And as I suggest here, it's magical thinking that's at the heart of any horror genre, like the zombie mythos. What's shocking is the possibility that supernature can break into nature, or into what sociologists and phenomenologists call the "lifeworld."
