Religion is certainly a fraudulent institution that's been at the forefront of all civilizations. But there are secular frauds, too, in government, war, economics, romance, and so on. I'm not saying there's nothing worthwhile or legitimate in big societies. But I'm highlighting a fraudulent, Ponzi-like aspect.
