Reform Jews seem to me quite happy with "centrism," that is, with the prevailing secular practice of neoliberalism. That's why so many of these Jews are successful professionals. They're pragmatic and not ideological about religious theology. Christianity filled that theological niche and therefore had to beclown itself with more awkward and hypocritical backpeddling in making its peace with modern progress.

Orthodox Jews are certainly outsiders. There's a disturbing Netflix documentary on ex-Hasidic Jews, called "One of Us," which shows how Jewish Orthodoxy works like a cult. It's doubtful that that should be emulated.

I'm ambivalent about neoliberalism. It's downside is well-known, but I'm intrigued by the transhumanist potential of technoscientific progress.
