Presumably, a laissez-faire reading of Daoism would connect conservatism/libertarianism with social Darwinism since the Daoist would say the economy must be "natural." That would be consistent with my view classical liberal economics.
But if Daoism were nihilistic, as I argue here, there could be no imperative to defer to natural impulses or processes (via the naturalistic fallacy). So Daoist economics would seem to me a cagey, equivocal enterprise.
