"Owning the libs" is a more recent development that doesn't capture the whole of the conservative farce, I'd say. There are so-called true-believing conservatives or libertarians who are highly ideological, so they're not just trolling. It's just that their ideology boils down to unsustainable social Darwinism--or so I've argued in a long series on the subject.
