Okay. But if all "views" are "inherently delusional," what's the point of Zen Buddhists "paying attention"? Is the idea that we should pay enough attention so that we realize the futility of paying attention?

Another remedy for the subjectivity of our viewpoints, of course, is the scientific method, which doesn't automatically accept appearances but tests our observations with experiments. Should Zen Buddhism be compatible with the scientific picture of nature?
