Of course the Nazis did terrible things. That's point: they did them while they treated Nazism as a type of socialism. As you say, it was allegedly a "nationalist" type, but that doesn't affect my point. I think the Nazis were trying to co-opt the label to overtake the Communist Party of Germany.
