Of course, it’s doubtful this is truly the end of the world. Even if the economic damage ends up being worse than the Great Depression’s, we’ll likely overcome it and the extroverted biases will be reinstalled.

Conceivably, introverts might use this occasion — like what Naomi Klein calls “disaster capitalists” — to fight for more inclusion in the culture that will rise from the ashes. But in the immortal words of Yeats, “The best lack all conviction, while the worst are full of passionate intensity.” We even have a scientific explanation of that phenomenon, part of which is based on the Dunning-Kruger effect.

Knowledge condemns. Art redeems. I learned that as an artistic writer who did a doctorate in philosophy. We should try to see the dark comedy in all things.
