Of course, I agree that Christianity overall is a distortion of what a historical Jesus would likely have wanted or expected. I've written lots of articles on this and I'm writing another one at the moment against this same Tom Gilson and the odious hypocrisy of Evangelical Christianity.

In the article there, though, I was attempting to represent Gilson's views without begging the question. Gilson assumes the opposite of what's evident, that Christians have been the experts on what Jesus would have wanted.
