Obama led from behind as a centrist in fighting only for the conservative's version of health care reform, taking the progressive solution off the table--because the latter solution was unrealistic in the American cultural climate shaped largely by corporate Democratic compromise.

I never said Obama was solely to blame for Trumpism. I said Trumpism is a just dessert for the Democratic Party's centrist liberalism.

There are always multiple causes of any complex phenomenon. Obama's and Clinton's centrist liberalism (neoliberalism) contributed to Trumpism by leaving populism for conservatives. Racism was certainly another contributing cause.
