No, that's not right. Why would I have to say that all cultures or cults are the same? Are all dogs the same just because they're dogs? Can't there be subtypes?

And no, the cosmic perspective I advocate isn't nihilistic since it's pantheistic and it includes an aesthetic reconstruction of morality (see the articles below).

I depart from postmodern relativism on pragmatic grounds because I do think some cultures are better than others. (For instance, in numerous writings, I contrast American liberal and conservative cultures.) But I'd be inclined to evaluate cultures largely on aesthetic grounds, viewing their core contents as fictions (myths) or as gross simplifications, from the cosmic perspective.

The point is that from nature's perspective, as it were, we're all nuts, including religious fundamentalists and modern consumers. So in some sense, we're all beholden to farfetched, parochial, tribal, cult-like mentalities. Few of us are enlightened since we're too attached to our flawed models.
