No, it didn't work for Obama, and Biden was there at the time as VP, so he'd know that. Biden was also in the country when half the voters responded to Obama's centrism by electing Trump, and then redoubled their efforts after four years of Trump, by attempting to reelect him.

So I'm pretty sure another lame, sentimental attempt to "reach out" to the other side would be inexcusable at this point--certainly until the air is cleared with some radical truth-telling about what's become of both political parties.
