My point was that "wokeness" in the late-modern sense of political correctness isn't what won women and minorities their civil rights. If "wokeness" in the older sense included the call to protest obvious racist or sexist policies, like denying women the right to vote or African Americans the freedom to enter all public buildings, then sure, wokeness was important in the fight for social justice. But that would be an equivocation.

I'm not preoccupied with wokeness. I happen to be currently writing a series on the subject (or nearing the end of that series), but I write on lots of subjects. I move from one to the next, as the mood strikes. Soon I'll have finished having my say on this topic, and you won't hear from me on it for months.
