Just to clarify, it's not a question of "preferring" a negative existential reaction to the nature of reality. It's a question of which reaction is authentic to the best of human nature. Which is the most honourable, dignified, progressive, or noble reaction? The reaction should encompass not just the universe's godlessness and inhumanity, but the consequences for intelligent creatures, for history, and so on. Would an enlightened person be at peace with all of that or take a more oppositional stance?
I don't think it helps to identify such a person with all of reality since the question would remain rather the All, the One, or the whole universe should be at peace with itself. There's such a thing as self-loathing, and that might apply even to universal Consciousness.
