I've written a lot about the self-help culture and positive thinking. I'm not familiar with the details of Adam Grant's books, but it looks like he figures in that capitalistic co-optation of the counterculture that's meant to stifle reform.
This line from the summary of one of his books struck me: "Many writers have chronicled the habits of superstars who accomplish great things. This book reveals how anyone can rise to achieve greater things."
In other words, if you can't beat them, join them.
Let me know if you write that article.
