No, I'm not tied to Spinoza's deterministic, medieval formulations. But I like how he bases his ethics on his metaphysics. I do something similar by construing ethics as an aesthetic response to scientific objectifications and thus to the existential cosmicist experience of nature's absurdity/godlessness, etc.
