It's important here to distinguish the descriptive from the prescriptive. In that article I'm mainly describing what I see as a self-destructive tendency in nature. We may be unconsciously destroying ourselves ecologically because we're alienated from nature's monstrousness, so we pursue a doomed, Promethean path.

We go to war against nature and inevitably lose, but alienation and duality between mind and mindlessness are like the other creative "membranes" or conflicts in the universe. Nature creates new orders by destroying the old, but before that can happen, the new opposes the old, rather like how our artificial world conflicts with the wilderness.

These are just some cosmic-level speculations.
