It’s certainly at an impasse, but you could say the same about all philosophical debates. Philosophical questions aren’t answerable in the same way as scientific ones, because philosophy is as much art as science. That’s why philosophers are still debating the same questions that were raised in early Greek philosophy. These are perennial matters that are essentially beyond our comprehension. We stretch our minds, though, when we consider the nature of truth, beauty, justice, freewill, or reality.
