It's a tricky point I was trying to make. What are people like when they're close to not being alive? Children and near-death adults face that prospect from opposite ends of the spectrum of life since children are near birth and adults with NDEs and the elderly are near death. So my point was that the nearness to the nonexistence of yourself is expressed differently, depending on whether you have an experienced ego subdue. Children play naively and adults facing death can show signs of spiritual enlightenment.
