It's a medical profession, so intuitively, at least, psychiatry should be as rigorous as any other practice of medicine. Even if it's not (and I don't think it is), I don't see psychiatrists being so upfront about the philosophy behind their concept of mental health. This is the usual scientism we can expect from social scientists (such as economists) that want to seem more scientific than philosophical/artistic.
