It wouldn't necessarily be adequate for our life since the external world could make an impact on our experience without regard to our inclinations. I'm not arguing from a full solipsistic perspective since the scientific method breaks us out of our intuitions, and presents nature in its monstrous indifference to our preferences and presumptions.

A purely intuitive worldview, such as an animistic one might seem adequate for a while since the intuitive person would be living in a daydream. But the external world could shift in an unexpected way which would strain the intuitive explanations. The shaman might have done the rain dance but the rain doesn't fall. Thus, the intuitive person might have the inkling that the intuitions are limited and inadequate.
