Is that a long way of insinuating that my writings are maybe too biased and abstract rather than factual or grounded in reality?

I've written a lot about how philosophy as part of a counterculture is a double edged sword (links below).

But to address your questions, I think philosophy stands between science and art, and art is indeed about knowing and expressing yourself as an artist. In philosophy, though, this self-expression is tied to the facts via arguments and explanations. So philosophy's a mixed bag.
