Interesting observations, but there's no argument for religion here in the article. I can understand the temptation to read the tea leaves since this article criticizes secular culture, but I've written many dozens of articles on philosophy, religion, history, politics, and so on, laying out my worldview. That worldview is atheistic, although I interpret the scientific picture of nature in pantheistic terms.

My point in this particular article is that secularists or naturalists face an existential challenge which isn't met by the instrumental aspect of liberalism.
