Interesting. Peterson's become just a conservative businessman, so he's lost his intellectual integrity. He doesn't want to alienate Trump fans because he works with Ben Shapiro and he cashes in on the grievances of toxically masculine folks. (My other articles on Peterson are below).
There's something paradoxical about speaking of Trump's bullshit as "authentic." He doesn't care about the truth, and he rages against the in-crowd and the elites even as he desperately wants to be an elite, and he obviously is an elite compared to most Americans. But I think Trump could be only as authentic as a machine. If you're soulless and all your decisions are transactional, you have no self in the first place to be judged for its integrity.
