Indeed, we should exercise our personhood wisely and honourably rather than recklessly.
The question, though, is whether personhood itself is a "foolish" invention of natural selection. Is there a sustainable way of being a wannabe god in the godless wilderness? Or should we tuck our tail between our legs and return to the Stone Age hunter-gatherer lifestyle, living out the millennia as relatively ignorant protohumans until the next asteroid lands, wipes out most life on the planet, and resets the creative landscape?
