Indeed, the technological applications of scientific theories could be endless. I write a lot about those. I think I was suggesting in the article that to support those projects of transforming the environment to suit our interests, scientists might find themselves looking for more and more underlying weaknesses in natural mechanisms to exploit. The more of nature there is to decipher, the more opportunities there are for the artificialization of the wilderness.
