Indeed, it's a mixed bag. It's great when you find someone with similar tastes who sees a lot of movies, so you can rely on that person's recommendations.
There are more movie reviewers now than ever before, which means the recommendations from some of them should be perfect for at least someone in that reviewer's potential audience. But who has the time to wade through so many reviewers to find the suitable ones, especially when much of the indistry has been politicized due to wokeness and the culture war?
Of course, this is only a First World problem. Cry us a river for having too many movies to watch and too many reviews to read.
