Indeed, and I think the root cause of this hide and seek game is hermeneutical: religious folks misunderstand the nature of religious myths. They treat them as literal truths whereas they're fictions with metaphorical, subjective (phenomenological) meanings, at best. They're about the human experience, not the nature of objective reality.
