In this article I mean to be analyzing things, not accepting or rejecting what I'm analyzing. I'm critiquing the standard conception of humanism, and redrawing the lines on the landscape, as it were, showing a continuity between ancients and moderns, in contrast to antihumanists.
Modern humanists are as prejudiced as ancient tribalists. Both ancients and moderns privilege some group, and they back it up with some arguments that you can take or reject. The point is that the deeper contrast isn't between ancient tribalists and modern liberal humanists, but between those who are prejudiced in favour of some group, and those who lose all prejudices in a cosmic perspective.
