In my other article on BS jobs, I make the same point: from a wider, existential perspective, all jobs seem BS in the sense of being ultimately futile. But Graeber wanted a narrower definition of "BS jobs," one that isn't vulnerable to being reduced to triviality. Some jobs are more productive than others.

Graeber's analysis may be motivated by an ideology, but those who defend capitalism are likewise ideologically motivated. This is the genetic fallacy, and his analysis can be independently assessed.
