In my head, at least, I'm pretty clear on what I'm saying about economists. I'll try to make this clearer in an upcoming article, but what I'm not saying in this series is that economists know nothing at all. Of course, the consensus of experts should be taken seriously. (Mind you, the consensus in economics isn't always so clear because the field is politicized.)
What I'm criticizing is the exaggeration of this discipline's scientific status. I'm saying that economics isn't as scientific as the presentation of economics (with the arcane math, the Nobel Prizes, etc) entails.
