In looking at Lulu's webpage just now, I notice that their sixth step in setting up the book for global distribution is that "retailers will review your book and list it within 8 weeks." So I'm not sure doing the book through Lulu would even allow me to escape the clutches of KDP's content reviewers, assuming I wanted to sell the book on Amazon. I might just be adding a second level of content reviews (Amazon's and Lulu's).
