I'm sure I've been lucky in some ways, and unlucky in others.
I'm not saying we shouldn't criticize groups, by the way. I'm just saying that the concept of race is a distraction. What matters isn't skin colour, but culture, social class, and history. I don't criticize "Whites" directly or superficially, because I don't care about mere skin colour. I do criticize the culture, social classes, and history, though, that account for the distribution of power and privileges that many Whites enjoy.
So for me, it's a question of picking the concepts and lines of argument that are likely to do the most work for you. Identity politics and "wokeness" are lame, as far as I can see. I might agree with some of the conclusions but for different reasons. I prefer strong arguments to weak ones.
