I'm not talking about labels. I'm talking about the ruse of the political spectrum which hides the reality of the fundamental political choice. I'm talking the myth that there's such a thing as conservative thought which operates on the same intellectual level as liberalism (modernism). I'm attempting to shift the debate away from the stale, superficial one to the deeper, philosophical one. I'm proposing an analysis that uncovers what's really at stake in the typical debates between so-called liberals and conservatives.
That choice between animalism and humanism is obscured by the overfamiliarity with the traditional labels, but that hardly means I'm recommending only a change in labels. I'm talking about the hidden reality of the two positions, as revealed by the effects of their respective policies.
