I'm not sure we can blame fiat currencies for the effects of consumerism and laissez-faire capitalism. The type of money seems like only an enabler, not the root of the greed that's led to the climate crisis.

But sure, the idea of eliminating banks has its advantages. That seems like the trend of high technology, the elimination of middlemen. It will be a brave new world.
